So like half the western society- we finished watching 13 Reasons Why, a series about teen suicide. Although I have mixed views on the series itself, it did have a very important message.
YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT PEOPLE ARE GOING THROUGH.
I had a really sad thought when I went for a morning walk.... what if that man/woman I just passed was so lonely or what if they just wanted acknowledgment. I have always been one of those annoying pains in the butt who wakes up with more energy than I should and am basically the human equivalent of a Labradore- so I'll go out of my way to say "hello" when walking past, smile at randoms when pulled up at the traffic lights or start mindless chatter with strangers.
But what if that smile you gave to that stranger meant more to them than you realised- what if that smile made them think the worlds not such a bad place. What if that smile made them feel comforted, supported and cared for. What if that smile made them want to love them self. Surely smiling is something we all need to do.
So what I'm asking everyone who's taken the time to read this post- TO SMILE 😄
Smile at others because you never know when your beautiful smile can light up another persons world
