Breast reconstruction(•)(•)Laser and revision surgeries? 🧬
Months after surgeries, a lot of us ask ourselves if we want to go for revision surgeries (that could be fat grafting for example ) to make the results look better, or laser to minimize the scars.
These choices are very personal as it is absolutely essential to listen to your own voice and do what feels best for you.
Remember that there is no right or wrong here, only what feels right to you. Go for whatever you feel good about.
It can be very difficult to accept that the journey of reconstruction is “over” and now you just kind of have to get used to it as it will not change anymore (unless there are complications ). It will only settle from now on, major changes already happened.
It feels very “final” and that was a difficult part for me, however here is my personal decision on it.
Now that the foobs are well installed in their little cocoon under my chest muscle, I shifted my focus on accepting what is and letting go of my expectations.
The rippling however is still present, some days more than others.
The scars are visible, though much smoother.
Fat grafting being a big investment, and not something completely necessary at this point, I let the idea loose and I will re-consider over a few years.
I know a lot of my fellow Breasties struggle a lot with this, and even if we can support each other and tell each other how great the results look, at the end of the day you have to feel good about yourself.
Nobody can tell you what feels right, so never feel bad about your decision concerning revisions and/or the choices you made for your mastectomy and reconstruction (if you had one).
I’m sure we all can relate to some extent, remember though that you are unique and that your choices don’t need anybody else’s validation, only your own.
To a beautiful week-end♥️
