The City Tourism Council (CTC) is one of the multi-sectoral councils that the local government units are mandated to organize and are tasked to implement and monitor programs of the local government.
The said council is being headed by City Mayor Stephany Uy-Tan and currently co-chaired by Engr. Joseph Balisacan of the BBCS Data Systems representing the business and IT sectors.
Assisting the CTC is the City Tourism, Culture, Arts and Information Office that is the lead city department that handles programs, projects and activities related to tourism, among others.
The logo, designed by Ador Hurtado symbolizes the various key elements of the tourism council: the white silhouette behind the city logo shapes like a traveling bag and a camera to represents the tourists; the panels of varying sizes represents progress and development while the colors and the combinations represents the contrasting but endearing elements of the city such as its cuisines, sites, history, nature, and its people.
Because Catbalogan City is truly captivating, CTC believes that in order to fully utilize its heritage wonders, it must be able to sustainably develop these geared towards social transformation. (Photo and article by Ador Hurtado)
