A little throw back Thursday action with my boo @rulubrewcoopindy. We hiked at the Indiana Dunes State Park. We had so much fun! I never knew Lake Michigan looked like that. Well, I wasn’t expecting waves. 🌊🌊🌊 We have a good time hiking and it’s a great way to stop and just enjoy nature and each other’s company.

One thing I really like about the running community is that you can share your wins and your lessons with others that know the process and have experienced it at some level. It keeps us engaged and empathetic to each other's journey while being mindful of our own situation. This is just a little reminder that pace, splits, PRs, and such don't really matter as much as just going out and enjoying yourself and perhaps the company of other runners. Happy Monday folks.

What a day! It's really freaking hot here so the short shorts came out. Whatever it takes to stay cool in this heat. 😊😊 I met up with my run group and am happy to report that was a good run. I didn't experience any of the pain that I've been having so I'm chalking it up to progress. Just like I said in my IG story yesterday, I have plenty of work to do and I don't consider myself healed, but I think I can say that I'm recovering πŸ˜‰ I'm nowhere near my spring performance level but as this continues, I know I can get it back in time. Besides, that's not really the point. Whoever said "trust the process" is right, even for us stubborn runners. I believe this is side angle pose, and it feels amazing! Seriously, yoga has been a game changer for me. It helps a lot and you all should try it!

Oh hey! Goodies from Scratch Labs arrived today. What's all here? Hello and happy Saturday! Today was a real test for me. I've been working really hard on my PT, stretching, and yoga so I wanted to do a little test. Lucky for me, I had a buddy to run with to keep me in check during the entire workout. There were a few moments where I could feel my legs reverting to how I used run so I had to monitor my movement to keep my glutes active. It's a weird feeling πŸ‘πŸ‘. Afterwards, I did my stretches and some yoga poses to aid my recovery. All in all, it was "ok". Not the best, not the worst, and a cautious step towards progress. Regardless, I'm grateful for the sunshine, blue sky, good peeps, and the privilege to run today. Have a great day!

It’s the first day of Fall and I’m still sweating my booty off! I went for a run last night and came back absolutely drenched. That happens when it’s 94 degrees! I’ll spare you the boy band joke, but I’ll tell ya, It’s the Hardest Thing to pass up. See what I did there? πŸ˜‚ Anywho, I broke out the Rescue Hydration from Skratch Labs ( @skratchlabs ) to ramp up my hydration recovery. It’s more concentrated than the normal mix and while I wasn’t out running 20 Miles, I felt like I needed to play it safe. Ps, I hear it’s great for hangovers.......#justsaying

Well gang, here we are. This is around 80ish miles short of what it should have been. But hey, life.....am I right? 😁 In the last few days, I've learned a ton about how I've been running and perhaps identified ways to improve. All of my runs this week, while short, have taught me that my glutes just haven't been working as they should. I'll tell ya....they seem to be working now πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ My ass is sore!!!! It really makes me wonder though if I've been doing it wrong this whole time or if this was just my body taking a break. It's hard to say, but it has been super interesting! The plan is to continue to build and see how it goes. Five miles this morning to cap the month.

My glutes are on FIRE πŸ”₯πŸ”₯I saw my PT on Monday and he confirmed what the doc said: my hips and glutes are all f$&ked up. So the plan is to strengthen the glutes and continue to do yoga. He gave me THREE PAGES of exercises to do. THREE! But......I was also given the go-ahead to resume my running as long as I keep it light and easy. I really felt my glutes engage today and my quads felt like tree trunks - it was a weird feeling but it wasn't bad. My confidence is a little shaky but I know it'll get better. Besides, it was really nice to be out there in the sunshine and I'm very grateful that I have the opportunity to get better.

Taking a stab at pidgin pose. I really feel this one in my leg and hips. As I've been experimenting with yoga, I've found that it works my whole body- I had no idea it did that! I usually feel the fatigue all through my body but my legs feel much more limber.
