Another great #ultra4nationals in the books. Started off with throwing my lower back out just putting the tires on the truck. Powered through the weekend regardless of the pain. Qualified 6th in class but somehow ripped the inner c off the truck. We got it back together Friday night and were ready for the prelim Saturday. Unfortunately we put the hub back together wrong and only had 3 wheel drive and could not climb #kinghill which was a lot looser and rockier than years past. We backed down the hill and got out of the way to try not to hold up the other racers. Got back to the pit and fixed the hub and onto the main we went in the last row. Knowing we had a lot of ground to make up we hammered down and were rewarded with a front driver flat in the second lap. Even with the flat we passed a handful of trucks and made it back to 6th but beat the truck a little too hard with only a wheel which overloaded the steering ram and bent the cylinder shaft. Bummed we didn’t finish but the truck was awesome all weekend as were the people.
It’s hard to beat being a part of the #ultra4 world, the entire pit works as one unit as opposed to 100 individual teams. It really is something else to be a part of!
