SWIPE: Yesterday's @anankarabazaar We Gon Be All Right Self-Care Festival at the Weeksville Heritage Center was AMAZING. I've lived 10 minutes away from the Center for most of my life, and didn't even know it existed. The facility is not just stunning; it's sacred. Weeksville was one of the first communities for freed blacks in the 19th century. It's residents built homes, churches, schools, and started abolitionist movements here.
Thank you to everyone who came out to meditate, practice yoga, join the panels around mental health, food, and other areas of self-care, as well as support the entrepreneurs doing awesome work. You guys filled my spirit with your kindness, beauty, conversations, and love. Especially in these unsettled times in our country and communities, I feel grateful to be a part of a community that's encouraging and empowering us to take better care of our minds, bodies, spirits, and each other. If you can't love yourself, how in the hell you gon love somebody else? Can I get an amen? 🙋🏾❤️❤️
