Everything was perfect, but my eating was not on point like it usually is. πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ But I’m completely ok with it, I never used to be but I’ve learned that life is about balance. You don’t want EVERY weekend to be filled with junk, but occasionally is GOOD - I’m not gonna look back when I’m 100 and regret having a any of the above mentioned πŸ• I will however remember my daughters face for her special day. .

This week has been crazy, to say the least. I’m more exhausted than ever before, and at this point I’m not sure how I’m even functioning. On top of being up all night both nights of the hospital stay (oxygen sats alarm kept going off, nurses in and out, apparent problems with the HVAC system being insanely loud...), the steroids made my child completely psychotic when he was upset, and completely unrecognizable to me, I’m stressed over finances, missing work, and I’m sick myself. Most of the day, my head feels as though my brain is swelling out of my skull (I know it’s not, it’s just the best way to describe my tension headaches), and my lips are all sorts of messed up from eczema and B vitamin deficiency, so they hurt!! .
I feel like an absolute wreck. But God is great and is reminding me how great people can be. There’s been silver linings to everything. Things gifted to us, free tickets to a Marvel show, lots of activities at the hospital that were brought to our room because his protocol was contact and droplet (patient stays in room, hospital staff must wear gloves, mask, and gown in room), he couldn’t go to the play room or meet Lindsey Sterling, who happened to be there when we were. Not that he knows who she is, so he didn’t really miss out, but I thought it would’ve been cool!

I know we’ll get through this, and we’ll enjoy Christmas! Mama is just struggling a little (a ton) with everything. But I’m thanking God for all the amazing people in our lives and for Him protecting us and getting us healthy again, which I know He will! And best of all, WE’RE HOME!!!!

Round... I don’t even know anymore. Every 3 hours. πŸ˜• Today’s doctors are very respectful of my choices for him, so Mama’s doing better emotionally, and he’s perking up a lot!

Even after the nebulizer, which got his oxygen up to 99%, he went back down and has been between 92-95%. When he started breathing shallow and rapidly, plus using his tummy a lot, I knew something was wrong. I guess we’re looking at potentially pneumonia. 😭

This poor kid isn’t getting better and isn’t drinking much or eating more than a couple bites between yesterday and today. He sleeps all night like normal, plus is asleep for a few hours by afternoon. I feel awful, and am actually thinking it’s time to go in to get some fluids in him. πŸ˜₯😭

I have received help from complete strangers, however it’s still tough. Between this sick little boy, stress of bills, Christmas coming, and two vehicles, both of which are in HORRIBLE shape and no money to fix them, I’m so stressed and having a rough time. We’re so blessed for what we received, and no matter what, it’s helping me to try to remain positive and trust God will get us through.

So today I posted in two groups asking for prayers and advice for Mario’s pink eye, potential ear infection, and cold. I don’t have anything on hand for the usual natural remedies, and as most of you know, neither of my vehicles are both safe and reliable right now. In the posts I brought up how stressed I’ve been because of this and just wanting to give my boy a good Christmas.

You wouldn’t believe how many people wanted to help!!! Complete strangers have been PayPaling me money, ordering presents and remedies for Mario to have sent to us, and I’m meeting one mama from further away who has a ton of stuff for him, as well as stuff for me!
.
I know the people close to me who watch my posts know I was really upset last week. I felt very alone, even though I know I’m not... I’m alone in the sense that I’m single and frequently wish I had a wonderful man in my life.
.
Today God has reminded me that first of all, He has my back!!! Mario will have plenty of natural remedies tomorrow, we’ll have more toys and clothes (for presents!), and I’m 2/3 of the way to fixing my brake line. Now I’ll be able to drive it safely until I can also get brake pads and rotors, and when I finally get the title for my car, I’ll be able to get rid of that and get decent used tires for the van, too.

God also reminded me that I’m not alone, even if I am single. I have people that can and do help. I didn’t even ask for the financial or material help, just prayers and advice, yet so many people helped, and it’s amazing because I’m HORRIBLE about asking for help.

I’ve been in relationships where every good deed they did for me was held over my head - even the ones that were actually done selfishly. Everything was twisted to make me feel like a bad person, and that they were saints for helping my β€œungrateful” self. πŸ™„ That makes it so hard to ask for help, and especially to not feel guilty when I do get help. It brings me so so SO much joy to be able to see her enjoy ballet class. She loves it so much. Every Saturday we get to wake her with the big surprise that today is Ballet class day or ballerina class as she calls it. I'm not bragging I'm just saying that I've worked hard to be able to help support my family with my at home biz as well as bless Yelaina with the gift of ballet classes. This is priceless to me and her dad.

Truth be told, I’ve been off my game a little bit. A back injury 😫 has me laying off the workouts and the holidays have me turning to comfort food. Not a good combo! So this was the perfect little πŸ”΄ β€œreset button” πŸ”΄ for me.

Just 3 days of a vegetarian diet (people it’s not that hard), my shakeology for breakfast, snacks throughout the day and a dinner from the 3 Day Refresh Meal Plan is all it took. I definitely detoxed from my sugar cravings, feel lighter, have more energy and get this...want to stick to it. Killer leg day this morning. Don't ever be ashamed to modify. Whether it's due to an injury or you can't fully do the love yet. I was able to get into a deeper lunge modifying so I'm grateful.

Early morning HIIT class right from home. Loving my at home workouts because let's be honest if I had to go out I wouldn't even. Quick at home workouts is where it's at.

I'm so glad I have no@thanksgiving food at my place. Did that on purpose. I used to eat sweet potato pie for breakfast til it was gone and would eat everything in sight the rest of the day. Basically we'd eat thanksgiving food for 3 days. It only made me mad sluggish and extra tired. Not this year! #Operation365 is in full effect. Next I'm having my yummy vanilla supper foods

I woke up bright & early to get my workout in. Not because I had to, not because I need to burn X amount of calories, not because I need to "earn" my pumpkin pie...I worked out today because I CAN and for all the people who can't. It is easy to take our bodies for granted on a daily basis. I know I have, because in a lot of ways it feels like my body has failed me. But I forget that this body, has also served me every single day for 26 years. It has given me the opportunity to experience life and everything it has to offer. I'll be honest... I was so not wanting to share my shift shop results. The end of the week we started I got some tough news. Needless to say I struggled the last two weeks. I fought with emotional eating and not wanting to workout. I ate clean 95% of the time and was still able to succeed with this round. It's not always perfect just like life. So I am proud to say that I lost lots of inches and 7 lbs and gained a stronger mindset.
Shawana reminded me of a time before where I would hide and not take care of myself. Not mind body or spirit but NOT anymore. Thanks for reminding me @shawanareisner .

Mom life has been a struggle for me lately. I’ve taken on a ton of changes and I’m just not adjusting well. I’ve been completely exhausted and haven’t spent any time with my son. His attitude has been terrible because of it, and I know it’s because of circumstances.

I broke down to an amazing friend, and have since forgiven myself of my shortcomings. I’ve accepted that I took on too much and needed to take a step back. And that’s exactly what I’ve done.
.
I’ve put my home business on the back burner and have committed myself solely to self care, my son, and my home responsibilities. I have every intention of picking up my home business again, but for right now, I need to focus on the most basic, necessary items.
.
Without going into too much detail, I haven’t been as attached in my parenting as I once was. Between that, a second emotionally abusive relationship, and working out of the home, I’ve felt like my bond with my son is dissipating, and it’s killing me. I had taken care of everyone and everything but myself for so long that I became selfish and only wanted to do what kept me away from my son. I wanted time with him, sure, but mostly wanted to be on my own. I resented motherhood.
.
I recognized this, discussed it with a very close mom friend, and figured out what to do. With her help, I’ve given myself permission to take away a stressor, and oh my!! One day in and I’m already breathing easier and better able to enjoy time with my son. We’ve had a wonderful day together laughing, playing, and just enjoying each other’s company. And I did so without the overwhelming feeling that there was other stuff I should be doing. Today we made baker hats and made bread, as well as played games and went shopping. More fun planned for tonight!

Tonight I will do some yoga (because you know I love getting a workout in!), read, and take a relaxing bath after he goes to bed. Tomorrow I will wake up, read a personal development book, work out, spend some time with my little love, then have a great day at work... And have some more quality time with him after work, and allow myself some self care time after I put him to bed.

I had been completely neglecting most responsibilities besides the most basic - feed my child, keep our house clean, get him to school. Quality time was out the window. I was EXHAUSTED from caring for everyone and everything except myself. Single mom, work, home business, friends, family, etc... It was too much. So at his bedtime, instead of getting some work done, I’d relax. During the day, I was plopping him in front of the TV and trying to keep the house in order and get some work done. I felt guilty for not doing much of what I needed to, but too exhausted to do anything. I was a wreck, and was so scared I was messing him up.

Moral is, the fact that we care means we ARE great mommies. Is there room for improvement? Always - we never stop growing and learning. But that doesn’t mean we’re bad mommies, because the very concern we have over messing up shows how much thought we put into our actions and that we’re intentional about our parenting... Which leads to better choices more often than not!!
.
I’ve taken on too much at once, and my mind is just incapable of making all the changes at once. So I’m stepping back from my home business so that I can focus on myself and my son. That’s it. Once I’m in a better place and accustomed to life as it is now, and better able to handle change, I will pick up the business again. But for right now, I’m giving myself grace and leaning into the Lord!

I've done my best to be upfront and give you 100% truth of my battles and struggles in the hope that someone else doesn't feel alone or that there is some insight to be gained. However sharing my struggles and admitting defeat is not easily done and i get that.

Truth is the past few days have been brutal I'm someone who wears their heart on their sleeve and feels all the feels. I trust and love big and sometimes all that love is too much and i end up hurting big too. β€’β€’
Tonight I tried to focus on my routine and doing things to make me feel whole I did get done my triple A workout and killed my abs, arms and a--. But what I actually needed was this.... πŸ•‰

I listened to my body and accepted and what it was telling me to do. I focused on grounding and expanding. I focused on letting go and looking forward because what else can we really do? β€’β€’

FLASHFORWARD TO NOW and look at me, making healthy habits, connecting with other people who want a healthy lifestyle and just sharing our story. I now have the tools to do my daily virtual workouts (no elliptical), I can properly portion my meals and eat all my food groups, and most of all i learned to love my body and this process!

I have always loved to read. Everything from reading series like Harry potter, to outdoor biographies, to 50 shades to my favorite which is personal development. I still remember the first personal development book I read and how empowered it made me feel. I loved it I loved the fire it lit within me to do something or be something.i like the idea of learning ways to be better at something or just plain out be more positive.

Personal development books are something I will always be thankful for because they have changed my outlook and changed me.😍😍

My daily life has NOT always been taking selfies and posting them on social media lol πŸ˜‚. As you may or may not know I am a FT online health & fitness coach πŸ’ͺπŸΌπŸ“²...I seriously LOVE what I do but I often forget to share HOW I got here. I started coaching while I was in college 5 years ago...it was my "side hustle" back in 2013. I built my business from my phone {using social media} working very PT hours while going to school FT, and dealing with a messy personal life. When I started coaching it was really for ME, my personal accountability to my goals and to earn some extra income because #realtalk I was a broke as a joke college student.

I never got the chance to say thank you to my coach, @laurenkilisky (on the far left). Lauren believed in me from the start, she communicates every single day with us, keeps us motivated whether it's a Friday night or a Monday morning! Without Lauren I wouldn't have the confidence to share my story. Lauren has done more than just help me get fit and healthy, she helped me find my purpose, my why, my smile and carries on helping me set goals and reach them.

I had the pleasure of meeting Lauren and @fitmom_fitbritt (far right) who both travelled all the way from the US to be with us at the event. I'll always remember the very first moment of meeting, with open arms and a great big hug I was welcomed into the group and it literally felt like we where friends who hadn't seen each other in years haha!
@_rach_el (on my left) and @sary_cecilia (on my right) were both so welcoming and friendly too, along with @anastaciaackers the whole group help each other everyday and it feels amazing to be a part of.

If you are looking to reshape your body, weight training is a MUST. If you have a pear 🍐 shape, and only do cardio (providing you do enough of it at the right time, under the right circumstances to get quickly into the fat burning zone...that will be another post) you will just become a SMALLER pear 🍐. Another workout done this morning! I earned my super yummy post strength workout drink AND my active recovery day tomorrow!!

I was telling my friend about issues I’ve experienced with my back - bulging discs and a compression deformity - and it reminded me of one reason I work out. These issues can cause me a lot of pain... IF I’m not keeping the surrounding muscles strong.
.
How many people do you know that complain of back pain and use it as an excuse not to work out? Probably a ton, right? Back pain is the very reason TO work out!!! Without the support of muscles helping to keep things in alignment, our conditions WILL get worse. But if we support them and keep them in their place, they’re much less likely to cause pain.
.
Diet is important, too. Inflammatory foods will (duh) make inflammation around injuries worse, lessen the body’s ability to heal, and make our pain worse and last longer. Eating clean foods that nourish our bodies will encourage less inflammation and give the nutrients to heal, or at least slow or stop things from worsening.
.
I do what I do in all areas of life because of the mindset of seeing challenges as the very reason I need to push through things instead of letting every obstacle become an excuse not to try.
