The initial target I gave myself was between 11kg - 15kg (gained 11kg during my first pregnancy and 15kg was the maximum I gave myself to put on if I was to ever go beyond that, which is still within the “healthy” range). At the end of my pregnancy right before our second #MiniPaaNass was born, total weight gain was 8kg (very well below what I expected and he weighed a whopping 3.2kg at birth). 12 days postpartum and I have a total of 2kg left to go back to my pre-pregnancy weight. All this would not have been possible without CrossFit and being a lot more mindful of my food intake throughout my pregnancy as I never believed in the whole concept of “eating for two”. And now I’m just counting down till I can go back to the gym because I’ve been having MAD #barbellwithdrawals and missing the #wolfpack a whole lot!

Not gonna lie that it gets harder each day as we draw closer to the end of this second pregnancy which is totally unlike me at this stage during my first one. At this point, CrossFit is my only way of relieving pregnancy pains and aches and keeps me from feeling lethargic. My weight gain has gone up by 1kg, bringing me back to 7kg throughout the 8.5 months (34 weeks) that I’ve been pregnant. L-R: 33 weeks pregnant with #MiniPaaNass 1 in 2015, 12 months post-delivery in 2016 and today at 33 weeks pregnant with #MiniPaaNass 2 (coincidentally wore the exact same top 😂). When the last few weeks of pregnancy gets a lot more tiring...glad to be back at the gym after resting for 1.5 weeks. Even though it was a super light workout, just grateful I’m still able to CrossFit ❤️ Echoing the words of @emilybreeze who uses the hashtag #moveyourbump which aims at raising awareness and encouraging moving while pregnant which could be just about anything—walking the dog or playing with other kids if you have them. No Monday Blues here because I had the day off from work for my maternity check up 😄 but another not-so-favorite movement during pregnancy...the Back Squat! But anything for your 🍑 right? 3111 Back Squats at my most comfortable weight during pregnancy. Squats are not as comfortable (but still bearable) nowadays due to SPD (symphysis pubis diastasis). Usually in later pregnancy, the hormone relaxin causes the pelvis (especially at the pubic bone) to loosen.
