With Thanksgiving looming around the corner, close enough to smell turkey and pie, my thoughts are already on those in my life I consider family. Next week's #mondaymotivation will be one of reflection on those that give me the strength and reason to want to find success. This week I want to focus on the importance of strong business and personal team.
Your business team should be comprised of people that have reached your intended goal as well as ones working towards it with a different skill set as your own. These people will provide guidance, motivation, and perspective. Note that this is a team around you, not under you. You will need to share respect and humility to be mentored by anyone worth while.
Your personal team is equaly as important. Life is intertwined and as much as you may try to seperate work from personal there will always be many connections. It's said that you will only be as successful a the 5 people you keep closest. No idea how someone came to this exact conclusion but the ideal behind it remains true. Those around you have great influence over you, consciously and unconsciously. Find those that care for you, believe in you, support you. Find those people that drive you to succeed. Not out of anger, revenge, or jealousy, but out of love. Cherish and respect these people, they are the hardest to find. This should be pretty self evident, and the next is as well, yet I bet the majority haven't been able to do it. Cut off and cut out those in your life that do not fit your personal or business needs. When you learn to trust, cherish, and respect those that support you it will be easier to let go of the false relationships of those that don't.
This week let's focus on those you need near, and distance yourself from the rest. Keep in mind the reciprocal value of friendship and partnership and make sure you support those that keep you close. Wishing you all peace, love, and success... thank you for being a part of my team.
