This teapot makes me smile a dozen times a day. This week has been overwhelming. Not bad; it's just been...a lot. And in the chaos of real life and too many thoughts swirling around my head, this blue teakettle gives me something to smile about even though it's spent most days surrounded by stacks of dirty dishes and unwashed pans.
Brian bought me this teakettle when we went out for our own Valentine's Day. Being in the restaurant biz takes the fun out of days like Valentine's, so it was special that we got to go out the night before. As we were driving home after dinner, I begged him to take me somewhere (anywhere!) to make our evening last a little longer. We ended up at Homegoods, and he insisted that I buy this teakettle. Because he knows that the way to my heart is through blue teakettles (it's true). .
I'm so thankful for my husband who knows the little things that make me smile...and doesn't say a word about a week full of unwashed dishes and messes everywhere. Instead, he's let me enjoy being part of his work and relax in supporting him as he makes some transitions in his job. It's a joy to share this overwhelming, messy, crazy life with him. .
