Meet Liam! This is his story as shared by his mom, Laurie. "Liam is 11. Liam LOVES all things Disney. He enjoys watching Disney movies and cartoons. He has thoroughly enjoyed two vacations at Disneyland. He also loves to swim and go tubing behind our friend's ski boat at Donner Lake and in the winter he enjoys sledding in the snow there. He has enjoyed being on the same baseball team as his brother for the past few years. And he just joined a local youth wrestling team. He loves music and sings in our church's children's choir.
Liam has had weekly Occupational Therapy since he was 5 months old and he has worked very hard and this year he has accomplished writing the majority of the letters and numbers.
I wish I could go back and tell myself in that hospital room after receiving the diagnosis at his birth, that I don't need to be sad, that Liam would bring such joy to my life, that he would be adorable, funny, sweet, affectionate and so very loving and that he would attend the same school as his brothers in a general ed classroom and have many friends.
Liam is awesome because he loves everyone without judgement. He is passionate about movies and music and finds such joy in these. He works extra hard every day at school and learns so much from being with his typical peers. He is a gifted encourager, offering words of encouragement and praise to those around him daily." Liam, you are described a gifted encourager! Thank you for finding the good in each person and modeling that positivity. May you always work hard, play hard, and live life in a positive manner!
