I personally feel that majority of the population would choose to look like Magazine cover athletes if it was given to them, yet even top professional fitness/ bodybuilding and figure champions can’t/ don’t stay in shape all year round?
Whilst there are plenty of other variables that come into play, the most important one is diet! It seems that people are only able to stick to a diet/ exercise regime when there is a short term goal to be achieved. Once that’s done, they go back to old them.
And It’s true that there are people who have it easier in terms of staying leaner all year round, whilst others will have to work a little harder on their training.
