Happy #traveltuesday! Today my heart is in my old home, Tangier, Morocco, where my friends are celebrating the first day of Ramadan.
There's nothing quite like Ramadan in Morocco. Everyone's a little quieter, more focused. It's a time for reflection, for family and friends, for appreciating things as simple as that first sip of harira after a day of fasting.
And then at night, the city comes alive! Everyone stays up super late, walking the streets, chatting with friends, sipping tea in cafes. I regularly saw children playing in the park at 2am while their parents chatted nearby. I miss all of this, and most of all I miss my friends in Tangier, who I wish I could be with right now.
Ramadan Mubarak, Tangier!
