Being at the start or end of any size range is frustrating for finding fit but also when you’re fat no clothes fit properly and have you seen the clothes they make for fat people always? It’s embarrassing. Grateful for companies who have cute and functional and well made plus size clothes but also mad I feel grateful for profit and capital just to make me fit in the world. .

Wednesday night's training. Push jerks and strict press felt REAL good, double-dip felt confident. Tate presses were better this week too. Also did some pushdowns and shoulder raises. Felt good. Now if I could just deadlift again that'd be greeaaaatttt.

Yesterday I drove all over SoCal. My day began in Burbank for a workshop with @theactorsfund, then I went to Irvine for a networking event with @orangecountyarts, and finally ended my night at the new Boyle Heights theater space - @teatroluna West for their TALKING WHILE FEMALE proyecto. I was so moved. But do you know what all these events had in common? Womxn speakers, leaders, and organizers. If the universe had a message for me yesterday, she was yelling it from the top of her lungs. BE YOURSELF, TAKE UP SPACE, and STOP APOLOGIZING. Big thanks to @blissjazz and @aliciamariesixtos who gave me a reason to stay up late last night. All the mujeres I met who opened up their hearts and gifted the audience with their palabra.

I've got some updates, folks. The current donation pricing model will be coming to an end as the year closes out. This means starting in January 2019, I will be setting firm rates for a Femmeography session and you will no longer be able to set your own price. I tried out the donation model for all of 2018 as a trial and honestly it exceeded my expectations. I reaaaally valued the opportunity I had to photograph folks who may not have approached me if it wasn't for the donation model. However the one big issue with it was that it was hard for me to financially plan for things especially when adding travel cost to the mix. Anyway, it was a fun ride, but it's time to shift to a more simple structure that puts value in my work and allow Femmeography (and myself) to survive and thrive. SO! The follow to unfollow thing on Instagram seems odd to me. I’m not sure I quite understand the point. Is it about algorithms? Or maybe it comes from someone being upset if not immediately followed back? Whatever. Lots of love, go in peace. 😜 I enjoy connecting with fellow teatime lovers, artists, makers, storytellers, people who take beautiful pictures and those who inspire just by the way they live their lives. Lately I’ve been seeing so many gorgeous selfies in my scroll, too. Ladies with confidence and charisma who know full well they don’t need a filter. True beauty comes from what is inside and radiates outward. It’s not your face necessarily, it’s your everything. Thank you for sharing your energy & warmth with me and so many others. And once you come to a place of resentment, hatred & misery then you are unable to shine love & light from a positive perspective. ✨
Also your Mind will continue to show you even more *evidence* of what you are living -making you MORE insecure, living small with MORE judgment & MORE unhappiness.

The cure to this? ✨
Get CURIOUS. ✨
If a thought hurts you, question it. Look WITHIN yourself- not out at others.
Be patient & compassionate in your discoveries. ✨
Then take the focus away from it- and move the focus to what you do want to project in your life. CONTRAST darling. That's YOUR POWER.

Who do you want to BECOME?

It's *easy* to get stuck on the *thing* that caused us our pain.
Instead pay attention to the emotions you are feeling in your body.
And let them flow through you- as they were meant to.

Well...does it?

We have been told for years, time and time again which foods are supposedly “good” and which ones are “bad” for us. There has been such a heavy moral conviction centered around what we eat for decades now and we don’t blink a eye, we simply say ok and believe.
So then if we believe that some foods are in fact bad for us then we must also believe that if we eat these supposedly “bad” foods than we ourselves are bad for eating them. Then this ultimately makes us a bad person right!? Now if your raising your eyebrow or thinking “yeah Amanda not really” then your right. Eating any food, whether society, diet culture, your mom, your coworker or whoever labels it a bad food doesn’t actually make you a bad person.
It makes you human. Now let’s look at some things that if you engaged in might actually make you a bad person. Murder, theft, bullying, intentionally hurting someone’s feelings and I could keep going. But I think you get the idea. Now does eating a particular food really stack up and compare to these?
I think we can all agree that there are worse things in the world, things that might actually make you a bad person.
So double tap is you hear me! Let’s stop labeling food and making ourselves feel bad or guilty for simply feeding ourselves foods we enjoy. Let’s let good be food and worry about things that truly need our attention. ♥️

On the road again! If you read my newsletter that came out yesterday, you know my trip to LA didn't go as planned. Thankfully, I get a DO OVER! For the first time in my adult life, I have no idea what I weigh. Getting rid of the scales (inspired by @kei_maye ) intuitively felt like the right thing for me. They lived under my bed and every morning began with a battle to resist the urge to weigh myself. More often than not, the urge would be too strong and I’d kid myself into believing that the number didn’t matter to me
.
But as the number got bigger and my belly got softer, I realised they had to go. The first few weeks were weird. The urge to weigh myself every day was still present and it felt scary to not have access to the number. But as the weeks have gone by it’s felt more and more liberating
.
I have no idea how much I weigh and for the first time since I’ve been aware of my weight, I don’t give a fuck 🙌🏻
