Ok so here I made a scenario where he pulls his gun to shoot me. So my advantage is I know what he will do.
Plan 1: I will grab his arm and elbow him before he can get the weapon.... Epic fail
Plan 2: I will grab his hand as he reaches the gun thread the needle and do a reverse figure four or ude garami to disarm and spin him to the ground. Fail.... reaction too slow.
Plan 3: block the gun and never be in the line of fire, elbow him to the face and then disarm. He sees my attack because he is a trained martial artist himself. I quickly keep the gun out of the way and go for a tani otoshi or valley drop while maintaining control of the gun, I secure a dominant position and can deal damage end of scenario.
Ok so things I was not happy with my reaction time was waaaay off. And in my training I have learned that dealing with the weapon before it becomes a threat is the best way. But I was not able to do it. I was also unable to disarm the gun.
Things I am happy with: I am able to remain outside the guns mount, and avoid getting shot. I am also able to get him down even if he resisted and i secured myself in a dominant position.
But my advantage did not help me. As a matter of fact both plan 1 and two were plans that i had in my head plan 3 was me just reacting with what I had. Now I think I barely managed to clear. But I do belive I would survive this scramble but it was a close one.
