What an honor it is to be nominated as New Educator of the Year for Northside, It’s a prestigious award among one of the highest ranking districts in the state of Texas.
Teaching is the most challenging profession I have ever taken on. They’re days I second-guess my abilities, days I want to pull my hair out, days I question what in the heck did I get myself in to. But, I don’t think I would be normal if I didn’t have these doubts. However, in the moment a student comes up and lets you know you’ve made a difference, that you cared, that you inspired them makes every bit of doubt manifest into purpose. As an educator, I strive at becoming a part of helping my students overcome their adversity. I push the comfort zone so despite their socioeconomic demographic, their perception will be changed. Being an excellent educator is not confined to the walls of the classroom, it is creating an inner voice that guides my students when their steps no longer roam the halls. I love my job and thank God for allowing me to find my purpose.
Congratulations to all New Educators and Educators of the Year. We are rockstars!! 🏆🤓🍎🏬🙌💯 #NewEducatorOfTheYear
