The Outwin 2016: American Portraiture Today Exhibit opening at the Tacoma Art Museum. It was a blessing to be one of the three artists to participate in the curator & artist talk, and the VIP tour to speak about my piece. .
The people in Tacoma were so warm and generous with sharing their feelings about their connection to my piece. Many hugs were given, tears were shed, and new friends were made. It's a powerful blessing for me to witness the reactions and share these moments with visitors that experience my Caja De Memoria Viva II: Constancia Colon Clemente
Thank you @tacomaartmuseum for the great work installing my work and warm hospitality. I look forward to exhibiting with TAM again.

These two have been counting down the days (months, really) until the glass balls came out of hibernation. I love our museum days. So much curiosity about techniques, stories, and the artists behind each piece. And best of all, painting in the workshop after they've been inspired! #TAM#tacomaartmuseum
Ehh....it says "Lucy of Syracuse was a virgin martyr during the reign of Diocletian. At fourteen she confessed to being Christian and refused marriage to a non-christian merchant. A judge sentenced her to work as a prostitute but her small body became so heavy that she could not be carried away to the brothel. Her eyes were gouged out and miraculously restored more beautiful than before. Finally she was killed by a sword thrust through her neck." What a wild ride, huh? The painting was alright, had some carrots and stuff...eyeballs... The plaque definitely was the best part.
