The frog is a creature that responds sluggishly to change. Experiments has shown that when a frog is placed in a pot of water, she becomes calm and feels at home. Interestingly when that same pot of water is placed on a stove, the frog feels safe still! However ,it is observed that the first time the frog begins to react aggressively to her new environment is when the stove is gradually increased to a boiling point! This means she lives a reactionary life; she responds rather than initiates.
There is a lifestyle known as the " mother frog syndrome ". Our aim is to identify and defeat it in the church and in our lives.
The "" mother frog syndrome " is that life that reacts only when the heat is on!
This is an apt description of what today's Church looks like. A close observer of the Christian world today will certainly come to only one conclusion- that all is not well with the way we carry out the GREAT COMMISSION.(Ref. Scripture Matthew 28:19-20)
We seem to have forgotten that the Great Commission is not about acquiring converts, building large structures, or having mega churches or having even having more branches but making disciples. Our priority must remain raising and growing Disciples. The true demand of the Lordship of Jesus can only be satisfied by true disciples - true sons and daughters of the Kingdom.
I look forward to have you connect in the weeks ahead. We started this series early this month of July.
