What a joy and honour it was to take part in the @sydneymardigras for the first time!
The world famous parade is an iconic part of our city that is both spectacular and important. While the #MardiGras represents fun, peace, tolerance and diversity, it's also a reminder that we need to fight for these values and never take them for granted. #KeepSydneyOpen very much shares the same purpose.
Nightlife has always been integral to queer culture and we will continue to champion the scenes and spaces that rely on a free city after dark. The signs featured on our float paid tribute to the amazing gay social spaces in the Oxford Street precinct, as well as the venues that are no longer.
We're so grateful for being given the opportunity to march with our #LGBTQI friends and family, and further strengthening our bond with this most vital and colourful community.
A huge thank you to everyone that took part and especially Joyce Maynge, our fabulous centrepiece, who spread her sass and positive energy along the journey. Hope to do it again next year! 🌈🥂💅🏼🚧💎⛓🎉🍋🍌🍒🍑💕💋#sydneymardigras #mardigras2017
