Last night I joined the @sydneyfishmarket's General Manager Bryan Skepper and the NSW Ministers The Hon. Niall Blair, Minister for Primary Industries, Minister for Regional Water, NSW Minister for Trade and Industry @niallblair_mlc and The Hon. Melinda Pavey Minister for Roads, Maritime and Freight @melinda_pavey to celebrate the finalists and winners of the 2017 Seafood Excellence Awards … One of the my highlights, apart from the delicious food that was served on the night, was meeting Chelli Edri of the @frdc_au to learn more about her organisation. The Fisheries Development and Research Cooperation, is a co-funded partnership between its two stakeholders, the Australian Government and the fishing. The FRDC’s role is to plan and invest in fisheries research, development and extension (RD&E) activities in Australia. The FRDC has a significant responsibility in ensuring, on behalf of the Australian Government, that research is undertaken to assist in the management of the fisheries and aquaculture resource for ongoing sustainability. The FRDC are also responsible for the presenting the 2017 Australian Fish and Chips awards too! …. I would love to be a judge for those awards! Congratulations to Pelican Rock cafe in Terrigal for taking out this award!
