There’s nothing like the smell of a freshly cleaned room, but do you ever notice how wasteful a house cleaning can be? This week on #ZeroWasteWednesday we bring you a few ideas to get you closer to a #ZeroWaste house cleaning.
1) Dry sweeping pads work like magic on dust, pet fur, and any other yuckies that accumulate on your floor. Did you know that there are reusable, washable microfiber cloths that do the job just as well?
2) When you spill something on the kitchen counter, it’s easy to reach for a paper towel, but using a washable absorbent pad is not only less wasteful - it’s more effective thanks to the texture of the pad.
3) You can spend tens of dollars on cleaning products in colorful packaging that often contain toxic chemicals… or you can get a big jug of simple white vinegar for a little over a dollar. Works like magic on all sorts of bathroom stains!
4) Cleaning wipes are super convenient, but they’re expensive, and also not recyclable, nor compostable. We love giving old, stained clothes a new life by turning them into cleaning rags! Together with some rubbing alcohol, they are just as useful as a Clorox wipe.
