All things considered, this all wasn't so bad. I hadn't had most of my HEA allowance, and my daily syn count was at zero, so I had room to play with. What I hadn't contended was that my starter would be garlic baguette slices amidst the mushrooms and rocket and pancetta. So other than those slices of delicious high-syndom, all was very much on track! Oh, and except for the one very small drop of red wine. I am actually very good at saying 'no thank you' when I put my mind to it, and probably only had an ounce or so. Then the main was Steak, boiled potato and veg. Syn free.
I am the queen of manipulating a menu when I go out. And I Do. Not. Care if I seem like the most difficult customer in the restaurant. They'll soon forget me, and I'll have stayed true to my mission. So never be afraid to mix-and-match with the menu to get what you want. If they have the ingredients listed in other meals, they have a chef that can cook them. This meal was meant to come with roasted potatoes. Another meal on the menu came with oiled steamed potatoes. I asked for those sans oil. And it was no problem at all. Was it worth asking? For a handful of syns, absobloodylutely! I'd rather save those syns for cake, thank you very much!
Simple changes. That's all it really takes ❤️
