“#SweatIsTheNewSparkle”...no, it ain’t. #Sweat is the result of effort. It’s hard work. It’s early mornings and late nights. Sweat is failed reps and PR attempts. The binary platform of the #industry being gender specific does nothing to help alleviate the #fear women have of “getting too big” “bulky” or looking “manly” 🤦🏻♀️ As if being female means I can’t take the same supplements as a man; mine has to come in a pink bottle. Pink kettlebells. Pink ankle weights (those 2.5 lb weights won’t do shit anyway). While some aspects of fitness are affected by gender differences (anatomical structure and menstruation), this whole male-vs-female system needs to stop. Sweat doesn’t need to be the new sexy, the new black, the new whatever. It’s fucking sweat, a result of a healthy, normal excretory system. Society is always trying to soften a woman’s edges, feminizing anything a woman “can’t” or “shouldn’t” do, but is done regardless. Therefore, NO, I don’t “sparkle.” I’m not a faerie, I’m not a little girl. I am a WOMAN. I break stereotypes. I own my mystique. I don’t need to be cute. I am a wolf. I thrive in a pack, and alone - accept me or not, I am who I am. NOT who society wants me to be. 🐺🖤 Go ahead, ladies. Sweat.
