Gifted my dear friend @mamahutch4 this 48x54 “Indian Summer” from @suzyquilts
Guys. I love Erin. One of the best aspects of this nomad military life is who you meet along the way. I have been blessed beyond measure with an amazing tribe of women here while at Fort Bliss. And with Erin it’s almost like looking in a mirror—married young, had the babies young, living our best life in our 30s 😂 (but seriously). She’s one of the good ones, people. So kind, giving, and just really accepting. Plus beautiful, talented, and an absolute beast of a pull-up machine.
This is my last quilt for awhile. Movers come this coming week, and the machine will be packed up, along with all the supplies and fabric 😭. It’ll be good to rest my brain a bit, recharge the creative energy—that’s what I tell myself, anyway.
This quilt was a lot of fun to put together. Started Sunday afternoon, finished Friday afternoon. I decided to free motion quilt all the negative space with a “wave,” and leave the triangles blank. Love the look! Makes those triangles almost float off the fabric.
Oh, and my first time doing a “scrappy binding”—success!
And people, we really did try to take pictures away from our walls. But this El Paso wind had other plans, haha 🌪 #seeshantry #seeshanquilt
