This quote really resonates with me. 4 years ago, when I decided to change my career path and retrain in the field of nutrition, I certainly did not realise how much I would have to learn, both during those years as a student and later as a professional. Nutrition is an evolving science, which can sometimes make things a bit tricky and confuse people. However, it is also really exciting, as it means we, as nutrition practitioners, need to keep ourselves constantly informed. But things do not have to be that complicated, modern life means we already have so much to juggle! My aim here is to make nutrition easy to understand and doable, by providing practical tools to help make sustainable changes. There won’t be too much jargon or complicated recipes, as I like to keep things simple. I have a particular interest in gut health, family nutrition and plant- based diet, therefore this will likely reflect from my posts.

I'm having a mushroom, pepper, tomato and parmesan omelette for #dinner. I had some egg mayo earlier and I've also had a couple of #bpcs. A slightly higher carb day but less sodium I reckon.

Do you have to take carbs out of your diet to lose weight? No.
So many people think that taking carbs out of their diet is what causes you to lose weight. It’s not the carbs - it’s that you’ve reduced the overall amount of calories you’re eating. Eat in a calorie deficit and you’ll lose weight whether your diet has carbs in or not.
Plus it means you have balanced nutrition, less cravings, better energy, less hormonal issues if you’re a woman, a sustainable diet, a body that works as it should do, and importantly....it’s a heck of a lot easier and more enjoyable.

It’s an active rest day! So let’s talk about diet 🥘🥗🥞🥓🥩 Changing your eating habits can be very overwhelming. Paleo? Keto? Low carb? Low fat? How much protein? So many rules! There’s not a one size fits all, and it is really going to depend on what your goals are and how your body responds. But here’s a quick hack to help for anyone looking to be healthy and add lean muscle mass while burning fat:
✅ Eat one portion of protein with each meal.
✅ Eat one portion of carbs with each meal. ✅ Eat one portion of veggies with AT LEAST 3 meals each day.
✅ No scale needed - a portion is equal to your fist size.
✅ Eat every 2.5-3 hours.
✅ Drink 1-1.5 gallons of water a day.

Yesterday I had a day off the gym because I felt like I needed it 😄 But back at it today with leg day whoop whoop! 🎉

Going to add in some extra cardio because I feel all watery and squishy (please tell me it’s not just me that gets that) 😂

More than likely due to the excessive celebratory alcohol intake over last weekend (which I do not recommend 😅) and the fact that I had 2 fizzy pop’s yesterday, which is very very rare for me😱

But that’s the way the cookie crumbles and these things are inevitable...So, if you’re in the same position as me, just get yo’self straight back on the bandwagon and smash out a good ‘ol workout! 😄

Most importantly, enjoy yourself in the process!

Quick and easy breakfast solution.
So I boiled the eggs last night and packed the salad for breakfast in the office.
I usually use japanese sesame dressing but today I’m doing without the dressing!

Can’t wait to hit the gym during lunch time!
