The accomplishment of climbing over 6000 feet in just 22 miles was empowering and exhausting and well worth it for the views surrounding our private cliffside campsite. Also, it was my first time riding to the top and I didn't know if I could make it with camping gear and so much water. But coming down that mountain in just an hour was what made my heart the happiest: minimal traffic, full speed ahead, pedaling optional. Mt Lemmon is a serious beast and one I look forward to visiting soon.
My mind is often the biggest challenge on bike tour and I'm so thankful to have a partner as mentally & physically capable as @rustypedal which inspires me to keep pedaling just to kick his butt. Thanks Colin! 👋🏻🐥🌲
