🚨🚨🚨WARNING🚨🚨🚨 LONG POST AHEAD

So, on December 2nd of last year I was privileged enough to be invited to the CrossFit 808 mock weightlifting meet. I was in a transition between gyms and was thoroughly enjoying my newfound ability to train with other people and learn from other lifters. The first video is of a PR attempt of 23kg/270 lbs snatch miss. During this lift, as soon as I caught the snatch, I heard and felt a tear in my right shoulder. I was concerned that it was something serious, but I hoped that it was just some scar tissue or some #oldmanism. I got some massage work done in between the snatches and clean and jerks and came back to clean 152kg/335 lbs only to miss the jerk on my 3rd attempt... My shoulder stability just wasn't there anymore.
Fast forward to last Tuesday when I had a 4 inch long needle stuck into my shoulder joint to insert dye for a fluoroscopy MRI. Second picture is of that fucking needle, as many of you may know I am not a big fan of needles. The third picture is the needle going into my shoulder joint under x-ray which was pretty cool.
The following two pictures are of the actual damage in my shoulder from the MRI... long story short I have a pretty serious rotator cuff tear. I have a full rupture of my subscapularis tendon with subluxation of the bicep tendon. Based on the recommendation from my orthopedic surgeon who did my knee back in 2012, I will be getting surgery and have an approximate 4 to 6 month recovery time. The damage in my shoulder partially explains why I was not able to make my 160 jerk from my 40th birthday. It's only part of the problem though I still do have too much bitch in my heart.
Big mahalos out to everyone that has crossed my path since my injury that has given me good energy and prayers I really appreciate everyone's positive attitudes. My surgery is scheduled for April so I can train up until then and then it's on to the recovery phase.
