My favorite way to start the day is by cutting a loaf of soap! Here's a first peek at Pumpkin & Maple, the soap I mentioned in yesterday's post. Loaded with fresh goat milk + organic pumpkin puree, with a splash of pure organic maple syrup. This soap has a unique fragrance blend of Vermont maple syrup + pumpkin spice + pumpkin and brown sugar. So sweet and warm. Always palm oil free.

My morning has been made with the arrival of a very special parcel from Massachusetts in the US. These eating spoons and a tiny mini scoop, made by the incredibly talented and experienced carver, @emmet_van_driesche , are stunning in their simplicity and beauty. I've admired Emmet's work and work ethic for a long time and am delighted to finally own some of his spoons. I really like to support other carver's work and I have quite a wish list... but you know, budget, so these things take time.

So I tried out the cherry eating spoon this morning, and it's as functional as it is lovely to look at - just the right amount of crank and ideal shape in the bowl.

I'm going to make a pot of soup soon especially so I can use the sweet chestnut eater - Emmet didn't know this before but I'm also left handed and the asymmetrical rounded bowl is perfect for me (and soup)! Lefties make great spoons for fellow lefties 🤚

I'm working on some slightly different little "friends" at the moment. They are a wee bit bigger than my usual "friends" and I think they should have matching sleeping bags, but that might be a job for tomorrow!
