In my upcoming blog post, I share the story about this $0.10 raise and how pissed off I was, and the many lessons learned years later. At that time, I was 21 years old making $9.00 an hour. This is one of the many reasons I am entrepreneur today. I don’t knock the 9-5 because I worked the 9-5 for 20 years. I started working at 16. But to wait an entire year for a $0.25, $0.50, or sometimes $1.00 raise is ridiculous to me. What makes it worst is that some jobs don’t even offer raises due to their restricted budget. So meanwhile everything goes up and I’m loaded with more work but my paycheck is the same every two weeks? What’s your take on this?
