I get asked a lot if I take supplements and my immediate answer is yes but not many, I do believe we need to get as many nutrients as we can from whole food sources however with depleted soils and too many sprays this is increasingly difficult so as winter approaches these are my top 3 for all the family.
Probiotics....it is essential for your gut bacteria to be in balance so your body can function effectively, skin conditions, bowel issues, depression, anemia and so many more can all be traced back to poor gut health, my babies were on them from birth and still take 1 full strength every day. We also eat fermented foods that are also beneficial. Your body cannot be healthy if your gut is not I highly recommend taking a good probiotic or more depending on your personal issues.
Vitamin c.... we can’t absorb iron without it, it is the most potent antioxidant that boosts immunity extremely quickly, it helps beat free radicals and keeps you looking younger, we all take 1000mg per day that we would keep adding to if anyone was run down. Scared of having too much? Don’t be your body just excretes it via the bowl and this is ur cue to cut back a little. Watch out for cheap nasty tablets full of rubbish. Lyposol stays in ur body longer so I personally recommend it.
Vitamin d..... it’s actually very hard to get enough vitamin d to optimally thrive especially if you have long winters or use lots of sunscreen. Most ppl are vitamin d deficient and it’s causing havoc. Osteoporosis, arthritis, weak immune systems, unable to absorb calcium....vit d is a no brainer. We only supplement in winter as we get lots of sun on our skin during summer (without chemical sunscreens) so winter we all take 1000mg per day. My boys never have snotty noses or endless coughs that have become so ‘normal’ I believe these 3 are a big part of that reason.
