Sometimes it is not our routine or exercise selection that isn't allowing certain body parts to grow, but rather our technique.

Before we look into your set and rep scheme or exercise selection, frequency etc. We need to look at the basic fundamentals.. that is, are you performing your movements correctly?

Next time you are doing a tricep cable push down, try this
1. Lighten the load and actually use the muscle you are intending to use. Many times our ego gets in the way and we try to use the heaviest weight possible and thus our body finds a way to move that weight by bringing other muscles into the movement. An example of this would be using our shoulders, back, and hips to bring up a barbell during a bicep curl.
2. On tricep push downs as shown above.. Grab the rope and extend the elbow (aka perform the tricep extension) Most people stop here, but did you know this isn't the triceps full range of motion? 👇
3. While your elbow is extended and you have the weight in your hands, bring your arm backwards about a foot.. you should feel your tricep contract even harder, and that is how you reach full range of motion in this exercise.
4. This is best done with one arm at a time if the rope in your gym isn't long enough to allow for complete range of motion. Seriously, just try it right now at home or wherever you are and you'll see what I mean, it will burn 🔥
5. Increase reps/weight/sets from here based on progression. But be mindful of your technique and don't be so quick to add weight. Remember going from 25lbs to 30lbs from one week to the next is a 20% increase in weight! Similar as going from repping 225lbs on bench to 270lbs - you would never do that! The reason we can do that on a tricep machine is because it's easier to cheat. Remember, Form > Weight.

Here's one of my favorite chest finishers. This is a solid move to pump your upper chest and work your core simultaneously. Keeping the weight up with the non working arm keeps constant tension on your chest and forces you to keep your body stabilized to get that abdominal work. Keep the weight slow and controlled, and make sure not to lock out your extended arm. Locking out ends up giving your chest a break. Keep a slight bend in your elbow to keep your chest working. 1 left, 1 right, 1 double is 1 rep. Shoot for 6-8 reps.

My boys (now 5 & 3) are 21 months apart. My first pregnancy was an amazing textbook pregnancy, I exercised until 36 weeks & worked until 39 weeks (much to my colleagues' concern!)😂
My second pregnancy was more challenging. Once I finished 12 months of breastfeeding, I got pregnant again. Due to being naturally flexible with excessive relaxin in my body, I've struggled with having two pregnancies so close together. At 20 weeks, I developed pubic symphysis dysfunction, which made it difficult for me to walk, let alone exercise. Being an active person who's always on the go I've struggled greatly being stuck in a horizontal position for most days, even walking to the toilet in the evenings involved doing it on all 4s 😳It was a huge relief when my son was born, the pain went away momentarily. Second pregnancy left me with a large abdominal separation, although I avoided ab exercises to prevent from doing more damage, was seeing a physio weekly & performed special exercises to bring my abdominals back together, I'm still left with a separation & an umbilical hernia which requires surgery😱 I've also had problems with my wrists from constant carrying of kids & feeding of babies. My second I've breastfed for 14 months‼️Yes, breastfeeding helps you lose excess weight but your body will always retain last few kgs as a natures way to keep storage for your baby... Knowing this & having all these issues with my body, whilst breastfeeding, I was mindful not to overdo things with exercise. I mainly did fitness classes 3 times a week for sanity... Once I healed & weaned my baby off the breast, I hit the gym💪🏽 I was able to get my pre pregnancy abs back in just 2 months by doing weights 5-6 days a week and NO cardio... Yes, I wanted to have my pre pregnancy body back as quick as it happened after my first, but I listened to my body and prioritised feeding my baby and gave my body the healing time it needed... women's bodies are amazing creations ❤️I wrote this in the hope of encouraging you to make choices that are right for your body & mind and to know that you can do whatever you put your mind to 💪🏽& remember, timing is everything 🙏🏽😘

I'm in love with this supplement. When I first started my diet plan I would constantly complain about stomach pain and feeling acidity in my stomach [every day for weeks!] and everyone was just like "well it's probably because you're having too much protein".
