There are some strong reasons why we have chosen to place boxing based classes in our UNITfit program, and its not so you can fight... The HIT 'EM UP-ROOKIE class is not about fighting:
Alot of cardio classes typically involve a lot more of leg work, and boxing is the best way to incorporate more upper body action to balance out the week, while still getting the cardio effect!
Secondly, to develop your body means to improve ALL aspects of it. Boxing (or any functional-physical art) develops coordination and proprioception more than most other workouts, which in turn develops your nervous system; enhancing you ability to control your muscles with you brain.
Thirdly, boxing builds mental focus and alertness, it teaches you how to center your minds focus - something that transfers directly into your daily lives. And is especially important when trying to Transform your body!
Training the nervous system is the key to discipline - it means you can lift better, build muscle better, think better, and have better control over your body's movements and emotions.
So as you can see, we have chosen this style of training for its many benefits - it packs a punch! The fact that you it becomes a fat-burning workout, while learning some effective moves really is a bonus!
