Yesterday started off really good. Raina had one of the best behavioral days I’ve ever seen. She was on top of everything and I only had to offer help a handful of times. We went to the smiths in sunset, Utah and were training, but also shopping. About an hour had passed and we made our way to the front of the store and one of the managers proceeded to tell us we can’t be in there. My trainer asked why and she said it’s against the health code. We politely Explained to her that because they are service animals and therefore considered our medical equipment that doesn’t apply to them. We told her what the ada and Utah law states and she started walking away from us while we were still talking. Her tone of voice was beyond rude as she was telling us how she has worked with service animals for 15 years and she knows the laws. She then began to get extremely belligerent proceeding to make up every excuse she could find to kick us out. At this point I left because I was a little panicky and she then told my trainer if we didn’t leave she was gonna call the cops. Because it was late and we didn’t want to have too much conflict that night we left peacefully. We have a meeting set up with the general manager today to try and explain that we are allowed to be in there. Hopefully everything can go smoothly and be explained in the proper way. As for Raina, she did absolutely amazing yesterday and I am so proud!
