I'm doing an event tomorrow where I'll be demo-ing this recipe for delicious superfood truffles. As someone with allergies to nuts and peanuts, I'm always looking for tasty alternatives to the ubiquitous almond butter, and this recipe is my go-to crowd pleaser. I decorated this batch with a blend of hemp hearts and coconut I received samples of from @manitobaharvest as well as cacao nibs, but feel free to decorate with whatever you like!
Even though I'll be making a batch on-site, I always like to show up with samples pre-made so people can taste before we get started and get excited to see how it's done.
Here's how to make these!
Ingredients: -1/2 cup cocoa powder
-1/3 cup maca powder
-2 teaspoons cinnamon -1/4 teaspoon pink Himalayan sea salt
-1 cup sunflower seed butter or nut butter
-1/4 cup hemp milk or other milk
-2 teaspoons vanilla -3 tablespoons honey or agave
Directions: -Pulse all ingredients except hemp hearts and cacao nibs in a food processor until smooth. -Use a tablespoon to shape into balls. -Spread hemp hearts and cacao nibs on a flat surface. Roll truffles through until coated.
Store in a cool, dry place in an airtight container. ~Makes 16 balls
