I’ve had this meme saved on my phone for years, I guess for this very moment :) I have to say, I’m kind of going to miss this eclipse + 6 planets in retrograde 😱 time as it comes to a close. Although I’m excited to see where it leads. I’ve always really loved shadow work. I like going into the sticky places...looking into their hairy eyeballs and reminding them that they’re just cute fuzzy little monsters with a loud roar. Every time my shadow walks in the room with her sultry stare, I fall completely in love with her all over again. I chased her and she guided me right to where I belong. Primal instincts at their finest and reminders of our shared humanity.
Shadow also has it’s own healthy and unhealthy expression just as anything else does. My shadow reminded me of who I am in this Earthly existence, the abundant ways in which she’s taught me to sustain and support myself, she reminded me of how much I love having boundaries and how to put them in place in a healthy way that is for the best of everyone involved, she taught me how to diffuse and disarm unwanted attention rather than deflecting it protectively. There were most definitely still a couple of rusty places where I had to learn how to flow and a notice of when it leans towards imbalance and unhealthy expressions that I’m very much ready to release. Sometimes we hide our shine because it draws in a lot of bugs but there’s some certain kind of way that we can let it flow where those bugs can see just the right angle of it to remember that they’re little lightening bugs who sometimes like to listen to Marilyn Manson too.

It’s the UNEXPECTED things/actions that sometimes cause the shift we need in the moment.
I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately. How the unexpected can upset you. How it can surprise you. How it can bring you sorrow. How it can bring you joy. How it can provide you with a lesson. How it can provide you with a sense of awe, inspiration and gratitude. This is the contemplative aspect of the practice that is both intriguing and revelatory to me.
This week in class leave your expectations behind and simply be prepared to receive whatever may come. My hope is that you leave your practice inspired to do something unexpected for someone else.

This is the pile of books by my bed 😳 I’m kind of obsessed with reading about the body and all of its layers. I’ve worked for years teaching people about a few specific layers, muscular, connective tissue, breathing, organs and alignment. No layers are separate of course, working with certain aspects of the body will affect others as well as shifts start to happen. I’ve witnessed so many bodies change and grow so I have no doubt in the bodies ability to heal. When I teach people I see muscles and what looks like it’s working and what doesn’t, but I’m mostly looking for energy. Where does the energy flow in the body? Where is it stuck?
