TRY IT OUT TUESDAY:
#parivrttaanjaneyasana (twisted lunge) is a pose we visit often in asana! I challenge you to put your core abilities to work by testing these twist variations.

From kneeling lunge:

1. Try twisting so that opposite elbow crosses OVER the thigh - usually practiced to "increase twist" but often only increases shoulder flexibility.
2. Try twisting with opposite elbow ON TOP of the thigh - honestly, this one just feels kind of awkward.
3. Try twisting with opposite elbow to the INSIDE of thigh - it is more challenging core work AND a deeper twist for the spine!

One thing I always stress to my clients is how important good form it. Planks are one of those easy to love and hate exercises that are great for helping you to strengthen that core!
Things to look for in your plank:
*Elbows directly under the shoulders
*Eyes looking straight at the floor
*Ears, shoulders, hips, and heels in a straight line
*Engaged gluten
*Tight core
