2018 I've finally started gymnastics lessons for the first time EVER! 🤸‍♀️
It's involved a lot of head falls in tumbles, accidental back rolling out of hand stands and, believe it or not, burpee running. I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THAT WAS A THING!
So here's my feeble attempt at stretching my poor legs on the balance beam after countless falls. I suck right now, I know, but it's all about the progression 💪

Lifting heavy for body builder is pretty important for long-term development.
If you only do low weight high reps stuff you quickly run out of room to improve. As far as I'm concerned to continue to progress in the longer term you should almost train like a strength athlete but with more variety in your movements and slightly higher rep Ranges to accumulate enough training volume.

One of my favorite exercises to incorporate early in the ACL rehab process are standing heel raises. Not only do you of course get work on the calf, but more importantly you work on:
✅ Terminal knee extension
✅ Glute and quad activation
✅ Progression into full weight bearing on that affected leg
✅ Working on active knee extension ROM
.
If you’re in the first few weeks of an isolated ACL repair and cleared for full weight bearing, start utilizing heel raises in your program. As ALWAYS, adhere to your surgeons and physical therapists recommendations for your rehab exercises!! #ACL #ACLr #heelraises

Here is a great stretch to do daily in the morning and after sitting. Slow hip rolls also help loosen up the lower back muscles. Try 20 hip rolls in each direction then repeat, which also improves strength and coordination. Along with weight training, all forms of dance increases lower back strength...ballet and belly dancing especially strengthens lower back. ♥️💃💃💃💃💃💃💃♥️
