It's important to have an outlet, a way to let go of the things or people that try to push your button. Stress or tension isn't good for your health and definitely isn't good for those around you if you happen to spread it.
I try to make a habit of talking to someone I trust about what may be causing my tension or angst. They help me think more clearly and the time away from the thing confronting me allows me a chance to gain perspective. However, it's also good to go back to that which is causing the tension or angst (after reflection), and professionally address it. Don't do it in a way that passes your recent tension on to them. But do find a way to work through the situation. Holding it in and suppressing it doesn't make it go away, it will only add to something later and create a more explosive situation.
