This is the painting from 2014, "No War". I painted it in response to the events in Ukraine that have started that year. The last picture is from today, near where my family lives. Just because it's not in the news, doesn't mean it's over. What can I do? Nothing. I can't even bring my family to the US as they can't get visas (even though I have been living here for 7 years, paying taxes and all). So I paint calming pictures, hoping that it will help to calm the world down, one drop at a time. And I try not to hate. Although, that's proven to be quite challenging these days.
Hold on there, dear Ukraine. We'll get through this.
