Hiiyooo, snowy grouper, characterized often by their snowy white spots, like to live in rocky areas and ridges and can be found anywhere between Massachusetts and Brazil, as well as in the western Atlantic (Costa Rica anyone?). This particular snowy ambushed my frozen squid at about 350 feet. Although this is a nice eating sized grouper, snowys are known to lose their spots as they get bigger. Grouper, btw, are one of my favorite white meat fish (if you take wahoo completely off the table bc let’s be honest all day any day). This pic was taken by @westcoastfishingco a few months ago 💙 yay for days off!
