You may or may not know that I taught middle school for nine years and for many of those years I was the yearbook adviser. One of my staff members many years ago was an incredibly talented graphic design artist even in the ninth grade. After he had moved on to high school was when I decided to start my first photography portrait business. I had no design experience at the time and had no idea what to do about a logo and knew I needed a designer but could not really afford one. I reached out to this student's mom and asked if she thought her son would be interested in a little graphic design job. He ended up designing me a logo which I loved and still love. I think I'm going to keep using that one on my portrait photography contracts, emails, etc. but for this new direction I'm taking I feel like I need a logo that better reflects what I'm doing and of course that means hand lettering!
