Last night the kiddos, Grandma and I had an amazing opportunity. Our friends at the @timtebowfoundation connected us with @timtebow and told us numerous times that Tim was so excited to meet us. They made it seem like we were the celebrities that Tim wanted to meet.
In May of 2016, less than 24 hours before we left for China to adopt our daughter Jolie, we received a phone call from the Tim Tebow Foundation letting us know they were giving us an $8,000 grant to put towards our adoption expenses. Right before we received the phone call, we (especially I) were nervous about traveling to China, leaving our son behind, meeting our daughter and learning just how extensive her heart conditions were. The phone call was like a sign from God telling us that the sweet girl we were about to meet was meant to be our daughter and that God was going to bless us because of this. Ironically, we also had a friend who was planning on giving us the same amount of money for the adoption - but it didn't pan out. So the grant covered the unexpected deficit. A total God thing.
Before last night's game we met Mister Tim in a hallway by the Mets locker room. I gave him hugs. Jolie gave him a card we made for him which included pictures of her and our family as well as a craft both she and Asher made. He knelt down and talked to my kiddos, signed their baseballs, gave them hugs and posed for pictures. I was able to thank him for blessing our family and helping us grow to a family of four. I was also able to tell him how amazed we were when his foundation called us, the day before we left for China, to let us know about the grant we would receive. Asher realized just how special it was to meet with Tim when at the game he saw all the people lined up to try to get Tim's autograph. Asher told me he "didn't want to tell the people he met with Mister Tim because they might get mad at me." (It's probably true - some of his fans are quite the fanatic!)
