Here is our story in a nutshell!😅On July 24th around 2:30 AM, I woke up with sharp pain on my left side.. I got up and went to the bathroom and then went back to bed to try to sleep it off! I woke up again at 3:30 and the pain was even worse and it was shooting down to my abdomen. I woke Daniel up and told him I thought something was wrong and that I needed to go to the hospital. Daniel knew the doctor that was working at the Gretna Emergency department that night so instead of driving 10 minutes to the Lynchburg ER, we drove 45 to minutes to Gretna😅 We were thinking I may have kidney stones so we were not in a rush🤣
When we arrived at the ER around 4:35 AM we went in and they asked me if I had kidney stones in the past and I told them I have not. They took my urine test and we waited in the room for the doctor to arrive. When the doctor came in he told Daniel and I that we were pregnant! We were both in shock because I had just gone to my doctor about a month before for stomach pain and my urine test came back NEGATIVE!
Since my pregnancy test came back positive they could not do a CT scan to check for kidney stones so the doctor did an ultrasound. When he pulled up the ultrasound he goes “WOW that’s a big baby!”😲 Then he goes on to say “Taylor, I think you are going to have a baby SOON!” Daniel and I both looked at each other in complete shock! The pain that I was having early that morning were contractions! I was in so much shock thinking I have been living these past nine months as normal and I do not look like a nine month pregnant woman! I had my monthly cycle and I was even taking my birth control pill the whole time! They transferred me into another room and my contractions started getting closing together. The doctor had to break my water and then they told me I could start pushing! At 6:50 AM our baby girl entered the world as healthy as can be! It was so surreal becoming parents in a matter of a couple hours.
It goes to show that our plans are definitely not HIS plans and I really do think God has a sense of humor! We are truly thankful for a healthy baby girl and we love being parents! God is so so good all the time. We love you Harper❤️
