Meet Vadim Akimenko. He's passionate about the value of locally raised meats, and has dedicated his career to helping communities understand the source of their food.
In our mission to raise awareness about food and food production, we have always tried to focus on the beauty of the stories we tell. There are times, however, when the story of where some food comes from (and how it arrives on our plates) isn't always comfortable for everyone to see. And we get that. Still, the reality remains that meat production and processing is a huge part of our local food system, and we think it's a conversation worth starting.
On August 26, Vadim, in partnership with @thebeardedpigbbq , will be in Jacksonville to host a butchering demo and charcuterie tasting @sadler_point_marine_center with @aardwolf_brew , @manifestdistilling spirits and @breakthrubevfl .
