Today’s to do list was pretty long...moms group, grocery shopping, making meals, laundry, running more errands, & getting ready for a health class tonight 👩🏻‍🏫

I chose the no excuses route and got my 15 minute Pilates 🤸🏽‍♀️workout in because I’m choosing to put my health first 💕
It wasn’t perfect. I wobbled all around because my core is like jello (#momlife) and Nola kept running around and jumping on top of me. I could have stopped, but decided to laugh and keep pushing forward. 😂

On a daily basis I let excuses run my life. So I challenge you to join me in being aware of how many times you choose your excuses over getting things DONE 💪🏼 and try going a whole day without giving in. I promise you’ll feel better and more accomplished ☺️ #tblbacktothemat

After a weekend of pretty much bed ridden headaches then back to work Monday, I rolled out of bed this morning and happily announced to my body PILATES TIME for you. Mind you, it's only been 4 days of 'no time for movment', so I was looking for to some stretch work to release myself.
WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO MY ROLL UP?? It was lop sided, TOTALLY disconnected and far from articulated. Seems my spine gave me a big FY. Ok let's spend some time on roll backs, bridge, reverse abs and rolling ball to get it moving.....NOPE....still a shitty roll up. Don't panic, let's go into some prone extension (swan) & get some more movment in the mid and lower thoracic area....NOPE....still a shitty roll up.
🤔 Bloody hamstrings were also miserably tight. Roller released the fascia of the hamstrings, huh, releasing into my lower back.....huh,....THERE'S MY ROLL UP AND SPINE STRETCH.
Point of my little 'wtf' moment is....our bodies are connected through so many pathways. It's never that 1 area. In this case with my Roll Up, it's not my abdominals that weren't working (becasue ROLL UP ain't about abdominals it's about SPINAL ARTICULATION), it was my spine not being allowed to articulate where I needed it to be moving, thanks to tightend hamstrings. Gotta love the human body Xxx

🚫WHY SITTING IS KILLING YOU🚫

It's time for another passage from Thomas Plummer book the soul of a trainer.

This is entitled, "You Sleep"
.
You wander 20 feet from the bedroom to the kitchen and sit.
.
You eat a giant bowl of kid food with milk and sugar, pretending you are healthy.
.
You are eating crap from a box.
.
You carry coffee another 20 feet to your car in the garage. You sit in this car drinking coffee with sugar during your hour commute.
.
You arrive at work, go to your desk, and sit for nine hours. You eat lunch at your desk, thinking you are being more productive.
.
You drive home for another hour camped on your butt.
.
You walk into the gym and yell at the manager because you had to park so far away, and then you work out, again sitting on your butt.
.
Your workout is textbook 1995.
You sit on your butt with a big card telling you what to do next, and move from machine to machine parked on your ever-expanding backside.
.
You go home and sit for four hours watching mindless TV and snacking.
.
You lie down again.
.
Eating too much is bad for you.
Drinking too much is bad for you.
Smoking is stupid and bad for you.
.
Sitting is as bad as all those nasty things.
.
The last thing you need to do in a gym is sit.
The last thing you need is a circuit-training program older than your grandparents, but is still sold in every €10 gym, old-school non profit, or bad fitness chain since 1967.

Good gyms offer upright, holistic workouts.
Good gyms have coaches skilled in getting you upright off your butt.
Good gyms are about movement.
.
Get off your butt, people, and find a new gym."

Everytime someone asked how much is it to train @tpfacademy And say "Oh I can go to X gym for half that per month".

💥I had not volunteered because I lacked confidence, but the teacher knew I was a Fellow and asked me to.

💥I felt unprepared and inadequate but as I helped and assisted and explained, I realized I had a lot to offer. They had no experience and even though my level was not of the instructors, it was still of value to them.

💥 Once we have clarity in who we are, we can confidently communicate if we have the courage to do so

👉🏻Implementing a proper strength program involves “working with what ya got.” If you don’t have proper hip hinge, mobility and/or lack of core stability for a squat for instance, don’t write in super heavy, overloaded squats. Hit that obstacle FIRST and then move on. It may look glamorous on paper 📝 (and who doesn’t want to push some heavy weight?!😅) but isn’t doing the athlete any justice. Take the time of day to work on proper technique first even if your athletes are strong. Create a well oiled machine in movement. Finished the session with a balance beam course. We focused on our core strength, stability, and coordination to improve our dynamic balance and ability to react to sudden change in direction. Keeping things creative here.
