I'm kinda sorta sick of fitness celebrities talking about how 6 pack abs are the be all, end all...
.
Why? Having a strong core (trunk) is way more important than just having a ripped 6 pack.
.
A strong core includes your back, glutes, and both deep and superficial abdominal muscles.
.
So to get you started on a better path, I put together a quick video with 5 non-crunch core moves you can do right now...
.
If your goal is a 6 pack, far be it from me to tell you what's right for you...just make sure you can back it up with strength and stability! Form follows function. You know what's sexier than abs? Moving properly.
.
I work in 1-2 of these per session, 2 or 3 sets of 8-10. On the holds and planks, start with 15 seconds and go up from there.
.

✨ITB SYNDROME - STABILITY✨
Do your knees rub together when you walk? 🚶‍♀️
What about when your run? 🏃‍♀️
It's time to incorporate all the things we've been talking about (rolling out, stretching, strengthening in various planes of motion to continue actively opening the hips) and now we're adding #stability 🙌
At the same time you're balancing on one leg, keeping the knee in alignment with the 2nd toe and stopping yourself from falling, you're building endurance in your hips! 
I've mentioned before that your hips are the fulcrum of your body and if you don't know how to move from them, often times, that's when breakdown in the body happens! 
What do we need when standing, walking or running for longer periods of time?
ENDURANCE!
Single Leg balances are great. But adding dynamic reaches in various planes of motion is where the true stability comes from.

💥Groin Series part 3 💥

📝This is the final installment of my groin rehab series.
.
🌵The focus here is loading and challenging the groin and adductors along with achieving full range of motion.
.
🌹Exercise 1: The sliding lateral lunge is a crucial movement for training, rehab, and prehab. It challenges hip rotation and groin mobility as well as single leg strength.
.
🌲Exercise 2: this single leg DL variation involves a back leg fixed to the ground. This then in turn forces more hip internal rotation on the front leg and thus more adductor activation.
.
🌷Exercise 3: the straight leg sliding lateral lunge is really tough. You need a ton of groin strength to overcome the momentum of the band and bring the leg back in.
.
🌿Exercise 4: the sliding lateral lunge with frontal plane band tension is a nice finisher to this grouping of exercises. One interesting note: the band actually makes it easier for the working hip to avoid deep internal rotation via a distractive force.

Performing exercising on the upside down bosu ball forces your body to work harder to stabilize it making these harder than the normal floor variations! 👏🏻 Next time you're in the gym, or if you have one at home, grab a @bosu_fitness ball and try this workout! (Bosu ball remains upside down and your hands remain on outer edges entire time) 🙌
-Gripping edges of upside down bosu ball maintain raised plank for 30 seconds
-Gripping edges of upside down bosu ball and feet outstretched, perform 15 push ups (my one leg is on top of the other only because of my injured foot)
-Gripping edges of upside down bosu ball, lift up into raised plank and do 15 straight leg glute kickbacks on each leg
REPEAT 2x-4x FOR 3-5 COMPLETE SETS (depending on how challenging it is for you)!
