Letting Baby-Weight Week (i.e. my deload week) commence with Deadlifts for 3 sets of 5 (345lbs). 5/3/1 week 4. As much I love lifting challenging weight, deloading has its purposes too.

Haven't done heavy back squats for probably 4 months had little bit of a back injury. But today was 1RM testing and I was like why not give it a nudge backs been feeling good.
Hit 100kg felt pretty good so decided on a 105kg and got that to! Feeling awesome post sesh on a high, I'm coming back! Double body weight squat 120kg I'm coming for you πŸ’ͺ🏼

LATE NIGHT POST FOR A NIGHTTIME WORKOUT. Unlike last night, I actually made it out of the gym before closing! But I could have spent hours in the gym practicing these two exercises alone. Squats and lifts are my staple exercises on leg day (they didn't make it to my IG story, but there are some good ones on there anyways). However, those are really tough motions to master, especially using the barbell. Looking at these videos, I see how I should really be squatting deeper on the sumo, slowing down a tad on the RDL...the list goes on and on. Challenging yourself in fitness (and so many other things) is all about improvement. With that, it can be SO easy to compare yourself to others...guilty. But at the end of the day, you're only competing against yourself πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ’ͺ🏻

On that note, the reps filmed above ^ were hecka challenging! I worked both of these exercises in separate sets (no, my lift sessions are not completely comprised of supersets!). I did four sets of each exercise, increasing the weight by five pounds each set. I worked the sumo squats to 45 pounds and RDL's to 35 in each hand. ...

It didn't hurt, I got below 90 and I know I can more. This has been a process - one which has been going on for almost 2 years and three weeks ago had me in tears when I failed at a 95lbs squat because it hurt too much.
