I ate all 6 chicken nuggets while squatting 315 lbs plus, I even used barbecue sauce at the end. Not that it matters but, I ate 24 chicken nuggets before this set too.

Strawberry Avocado Spinach Salad with Chicken ๐Ÿ— ๐Ÿฅ‘ ๐Ÿ“ #thesquatchallenge
PRINT
A simple balsamic dressing does double duty as a marinade for the chicken in this fresh spinach, avocado and strawberry salad.
SERVES: SERVES 2
Ingredients
ยผ cup extra virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon golden balsamic vinegar
1 teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon roughly chopped fresh tarragon
ยผ teaspoon kosher salt
ยผ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
6 cups loosely packed fresh spinach
6-8 large strawberries, hulled and quartered
1 avocado, peeled, seeded and cut into chunks
3-4 thinly sliced rings of red onion
ยผ cup feta cheese
2 tablespoons sliced almonds
Instructions
Whisk the extra virgin olive oil with the balsamic vinegar, sugar, tarragon, kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper in a small bowl until blended.
Place the chicken breasts in a shallow bowl and cover with half of the dressing, cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 2 hours.
Spray a grill pan or 12-inch non-stick pan with cooking spray and heat to medium high. Place the chicken breasts on the hot grill pan. Cook for 3 minutes then flip the chicken breasts. Cook for another 3 minutes, and turn. Reduce the cooking temperature to medium low and cook the chicken for 20-25 minutes more, turning every 5 minutes or so. Cooking time will depend on the thickness of the chicken, but it will be done when it hits 165 degrees internal temperature. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes then slice into ยผ inch slices.
Arrange the spinach, strawberries and red onion in a bowl. Lightly toss with the remaining dressing. Add the avocado, sliced chicken and top with feta and almond slices. Serve immediately. #thesquatchallenge #squatchallenge #swlc

My training regimen has been as precise and intense as possible. I have been exercising 7 days a week. I do an intense AM lift followed by afternoon cardio 3-4 days a week. My diet is definitely not one that I am accustomed to. My macros have been adjusted so that I do not jeopardize my milk supply (Yes, the jugs are huge, I know. Get over it ๐Ÿ˜). Feeding my son from my body is my #1 priority. I have plenty of time to be shreeddy. โ˜บ๏ธ

๐ŸฅPer usual, anytime someone's practices are put into question I'm expecting a raging ๐Ÿ’ฉ storm of angry commenters, but such is life in the online fitness industry. That said, let's dig into the fun stuff, shall we?

๐ŸญThe 2 most common justifications for Bosu squats are *improving balance* and they're *functional.* Let's look at each of those claims.

๐ŸฟCalling bosu squats "functional" is a bit of a stretch and by "a bit" I mean "a massive effing stretching." For an exercise to be "functional" it has to help you in a specific movement. And for an exercise to help you in a specific movement it should mimic similar demands. And considering you are literally NEVER on an unstable surface (unless you're surfing or on a boat - even ice is stable, it's just slippery) it makes no sense to put yourself on the flat side a wobbling ball. Because if you really want to improve your "functional" strength it makes much more sense to do it on a stable surface (like walking up/down stairs) which mimics real life activity.

๐Ÿฅ•As for balance, yes it does help balance. But only specifically on an unstable surface. And if you really dig into the research one of the best ways to improve balance is by simply improving your strength. So if you can get stronger and improve your balance safely on the floor...why put yourself at risk of falling off the bosu ball and hurting yourself?

๐ŸณPerhaps most noteworthy, even the Bosu company actively says to NOT do squats on the flat side of the ball because it's outrageously dangerous (and they've been through a ton of law suits). They do recommend squatting on the other side for ankle stability and rehab work which I'm totally fine with but very sparingly and not with 99.99% of people.

๐ŸLong story short, squat with your two feet flat on the floor and progressively use heavier weight to get stronger and improve your performance. Leave the bosu stuff to the circus clowns.
