I haven't posted anything lately because I haven't really been making anything new. I tend to stick with things I know (seasoned meat and steamed/roasted veggies, and then basic broth soups). I did buy Sports Research collagen peptides, to replace/replenish my Vital Proteins brand. Mainly to save some $$. I wonder what the true difference is. I'll at least find out from a practical standpoint, if at all. **Side thoughts: I'm not really feeling the flavors, so far, of the Nourish cookbook (Rachael Bryant). Something I'm learning is that just because a recipe/cookbook is Paleo/AIP doesn't mean I will/have to like it. It kinda stinks because I "wasted" money on it, but I'm thinking I just don't have the same palate as Nourish. Danielle Walker, on the other hand (Against All Grain) speaks my language. I've loved everything I've made of hers. And not in a "yeah, no, this is fine" type of way. But in an impressed "wow, I'm so glad I can have all this flavor!" type of way. I list myself as a supplement guru so might as well start talking about em right? First up is CLA or Conjugated Linoleic Acid. CLA (pronounced clah for bros) is a form of omega 6 fatty acid typically found in things like grass-fed beef and safflower oil and primarily has benefits for weight management by functioning as a fat blocker and also breaking down fat to use for energy. Another benefit for anyone on a cutting phase is CLA's ability to prevent muscle breakdown which is really good I'd say and I did. Typically for weight management you need about 3 grams a day of CLA and for muscle sparing about 6 grams per day. Personally I like the CLA from Sports Reasearch because of its higher overall dose per softgel so rather than 3-6 pills you only need 2-5 and the quality is solid too which nice.

Home baked up loads of chicken tenderloins.Dinner: a salad my body was craving so badly. Spring mix greens, boiled egg, Lima beans, strawberries, blueberries, #organic pumpkin seeds, and curried chicken. Marinated in curry paste, Lemongrass paste, soy and lemon juice.
Body still readjusting, didn't get all my meals in today, but they were healthier. No slacking over here, had my fun, enjoyed it, back to reality so back to crushing some goals. My progress will continue. I'll keep going after my passions and get healthier and stronger each and every day.

Rest day didn't totally rest everything on me this weekend but still had a good workout today. Thought I was feeling weak, voiced this to Dan my trainer @aboveaveragetrainer turns out it was because he upped my weights. What! 😰 I was still able to muster a few reps.

The sun is out and I'm feeling oh so good not as much sorness as I thought I would have, at least I can move. Running might be a bit of a struggle but no way I'm not doing it. Here are some of my obstacles tho.

Those knees! New exercise tried by @traineraboveaverage I never back down, don't always succeed, sometimes crash and burn but I'll practice and come back stronger and better, ALWAYS. The toe, a runner's problem apparently. Started end of summer last year. Toenail was actually black, told you yuck! But I was proud I was killing my runs. Figured I was going to loose it. Hung on for a long time til this morning. Looked down was missing a red nail🤔 Yep half of it, the bad half is gone!
Now off for a run, this is going to be an interesting run, a challenge I'm up for it!!

Well Happy Friday Everyone...
Let's just say this was a long week for me..
I started out gang busters but in-between seemed to be strugglesville for me. I suppose just had lots on my plate.
How did you start your morning?
Today it was just me, myself and I. Nothing else planned. Slept in, been so drained this week, then I made this awesome green smoothie with new goodies I received.
This will be my third container of Collagen I'll be trying, wasn't to pleased with my last one. This one by #srfam #sportsreasearch looks very promising already. I use a scoop every morning in my oatmeal or smoothie. I also got the MCT OIL because I used to add #organic #coconutoil to my coffee but tired of the Hassel of dealing with the hardened form. This oil is made of organic coconuts and is in liquid form. My bottle arrived a bit squished at the bottom, hopefully it will hold up, not leaking right now. I can easily add it to my coffee, smoothies, oatmeal, etc. I've been adding tumeric to my cooking so I figured I would try the capsules to see if they might help my neck and shoulder issues, because they have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits.

Day 5 today! It's the weekend, finally! I haven't really been feeling TOO many negative effects yet. Maybe some annoyance at the grocery store, and slight mood swings but I do feel overall like I'm doing great. Again my only big difference is getting a little more amped for a workout when I'm so used to preworkout helping with that...I've found that's slightly more in my head, and once I get started then I'm good to go.

I got up early and ran a 5k this morning so I was starving after only half of a banana. I made myself a good ole fashioned, easy but big brunch since this will also be my lunch today.

Something I've been so happy to get me through my whole30, are the nutpods creamer! I love them and they give me just the happy medium between my usual almond milk creamery, that has some small sugar.
Also, I've been adding Collagen peptides to my coffee. This is Sports Research Collagen and I've had a decent experience with it. There is a small
Taste difference when you add it to liquids, but not much but it DOES NOT dissolve in colder liquids well. I imagine in a smoothie it would be great but for now- I do really enjoy getting it into my coffee and the benefits, especially for me as a woman, and a lifter, are said to be a great supplement.
