On Thursday, my amazing brother officially become a graduate of a Bachelor in Business, majoring in Sports Management.
Proud truly is an understatement.
To Wayde, this wasn't about getting a certificate and being qualified for a job.
It was about the commitment to completing something he never thought he would ever do, it's about the grind of it. The 1-2 hour car trips there and then the same back home, it is the sacrifices that have been made, the drive it took to get through each semester, it's the time management of doing the course aswell as putting in many hours of gaining voluntary industry experience, on top of working a part time job and maintaining his physical and mental health at a positive level, and it is the strength it took to persist when his world came crashing down on him.
And all of this was done without ANY complaints, EVER! I honestly don't recall him whining or winging once through his whole period of study. He just put his head down and focused on what needed to be done. Not one bad word spoken about anyone or anything, not one complaint about having to drive such long distances. He just took it all in his stride.
He never gave, not up once.
This man is a true legend, an inspiration, and someone that is going to do incredible things in this world while inspiring many people along the way, as he already has, and is doing.
An amazing leader, who treats all people equally and has an absolute heart of gold.
You truly are the best, there's not many like you Wayde.
Dad would be so proud of you Wayde. He would have been watching from the back of the room with tears dripping down his face, beaming in pride.
I am abundantly proud of you, and I'm so lucky to have you as a brother. You have an amazing future lying ahead of you, I can't wait to watch it all unfold for you as you travel through it.
Love you endless amounts. Thank you for forever inspiring the shit out of me.
Congratulations on this mind blowing achievement, you are a star! ❤️
