Single Leg Deadlifts are a great way to challenge the hip hinge pattern unilaterally. It also challenges the hip and foot control mechanisms of single leg balance. -

Plyometrics are exercises in which muscles exert maximum force in short intervals of time, with the goal of increasing power (speed-strength). This training focuses on learning to move from a muscle extension to a contraction in a rapid or explosive manner, such as in vertical box jumps.

Plyometrics are primarily used by athletes to improve performance and build explosive power, but can also be used in general training to increase strength and hypertrophy.

What plyometrics are meant to do is teach you to exert maximum force in minimum time. To achieve this, each exercise must be performed quickly with maximum power and speed. A good amount of work per exercise is to perform 3 to 8 powerful and clean reps for 3 to 6 sets. The exact numbers depend on where you are in your training and which exercise you are doing.

The Front Box Jump is one of the most-used plyometric exercises because it is very effective at increasing your vertical jump. It strengthens your quadriceps and glute muscles, which are essential for jumping.

Beautiful night to be outside with the boys! ⚽️ They showed up to their fitness session feeling sore from soccer camp today...lots of complaints about hip flexors and quads. We spent extra time at the beginning and the end of our session on stretching to open up the hips, hip flexors, quads, and the always tight hamstrings!
A light sesh tonight....fun with chutes and harnesses doing some partner resisted runs.
