Meditation is the most private part of my practice. It’s an invitation to simply BE, without consideration to the “what ifs” that tend to linger in the back of my mind. Meditation is my most honest attempt to awaken my subconscious mind. I give myself the freedom to feel every emotion that naturally arises—lust, desire, sadness, joy, peace... My hands float through space as I close my eyes, run fingertips over the ribs that expand on the count of every inhalation. Hands naturally settle into prayer and slowly rest onto my knees. A part of me grieves the loss of truthfulness and honesty. If we aren’t honest with words, how would we ever learn to be honest through movement? Honor your truth. Feel it through every exhalation, every dizzying spin, every posture that delivers positive energy to your being.
